Verne World (ヴェルヌ・ワールド World Verunu?)[3] is a role-playing video game that was released for the Super Famicom for an exclusively Japanese market.

Summary

The story is not exactly Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star material. Instead, the story deviates into material that is more suitable for EarthBound or any of The Simpsons video games with Bart Simpson in it. The player controls a young man visiting a theme park (which is shaped like seven interconnected islands[4]) with his little brother during the summer[4] of 2028.[5] After the typical Talk to everyone to progress segment, the player finds out that he is trapped inside the park by himself. All the park's animatronics have decided that their mission in life is to beat the crap out of the player and stuff his barely breathing body into a waste container. Enemies include an animatronic screw, SD Gundams, and a man that transforms into a drilling rig. The devices themselves may remind the player of Edgar's tools from Final Fantasy VI.

As of August 2011, there is no Japanese-to-English translation of this game, so literacy in Japanese is required to play this video game.
